About this role
Breakdown & Corrective Maintenance: Attend to mechanical breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime. Diagnose root causes of equipment failure and carry out immediate repairs or overhauls.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PPM): Execute scheduled maintenance routines, including lubrication, alignment checks, bearing replacements, and vibration monitoring for heavy machinery.
Equipment Handling: Maintain and repair plant-specific equipment such as conveyors, material handling systems (RMHS), crushers, screens, pumps, blowers, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Overhauling & Installation: Assist in the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment, piping networks, and structural assemblies.
Spare Parts Management: Monitor inventory levels of critical mechanical spares (bearings, seals, belts, fasteners) and report requirements to the store/purchase department.
Safety Compliance: Strictly follow factory safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, hot work permits, and proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Required skills
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mechanical assemblies, gearboxes, alignment techniques, bearing fits, and hydraulic/pneumatic circuits. Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical layouts, and isometric diagrams. Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with workshop tools, welding/gas-cutting equipment, alignment gauges, and heavy lifting gear. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical capability to troubleshoot recurring mechanical failures under high-pressure plant environments.
