About this role
Assist senior fitter in mechanical maintenance of DRI plant equipment.
Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of machinery.
Assist in dismantling, repairing, assembling and alignment of equipment.
Work on kiln, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, blowers, fans, rollers, bearings and couplings.
Check and replace damaged bearings, seals, belts, chains and other mechanical parts.
Assist in shaft and coupling alignment.
Perform lubrication and greasing of mechanical equipment.
Use hand tools, power tools, grinding and drilling machines safely.
Support shutdown maintenance and equipment overhauling.
Identify abnormal noise, vibration, leakage and other mechanical problems.
Follow SOPs, permit-to-work systems and plant safety procedures.
Maintain tools, equipment and basic maintenance records.
Required skills
ITI Fitter / Mechanical qualification Basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance Knowledge of bearing, gearbox, pump and conveyor Basic shaft/coupling alignment Preventive & breakdown maintenance Knowledge of fitting tools Basic hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge Ability to read basic mechanical drawings Safety and PPE awareness Physically fit for plant/shift work Good teamwork and communication skills
