A Fleet Operations Manager (or Executive, depending on seniority) is responsible for supervising, scheduling, and executing the daily movement of an organisation’s vehicle fleet. Their core goal is to optimise route efficiency, minimise operational costs, enforce driver safety, and maintain a high standard of vehicle upkeep.
Required skills
Required Qualifications & Experience • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration (BBA/MBA), or a related field. • Experience: 2 to 5 years of core experience in fleet routing or transport operations for Executive levels; 6 to 12+ years for Managerial roles. • Tech Skills: Hands-on proficiency with Fleet Management Systems (FMS), route optimization software, advanced Excel trackers, and GPS telematics platforms. • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of local motor vehicle acts, commercial vehicle regional permits, and transport union guidelines.
